Researchers say a 15,600-year-old human footprint found in Chile in 2010 has been confirmed as belonging to an male adult human, making it the oldest human footprint found in the Americas. (Photo Credit: Universidad Austral de Chile)

The footprint was originally found in 2010 by a Universidad Austral de Chile student at the Pilauco Bajo archaeological site in the city of Osorno.
